So most of Guildford Street has been demolished and rebuilt as Orchard Drive.  I went to Guildford Street a couple of years ago to look at my old "ancestral" homes.  The houses I was looking for had all been demolished.  The houses still standing had been tarted up with pastel coloured  - some of those were boarded up.

And a councillor says that the demolition was a mistake....................

New plans revealed for The Pier

New plans have been revealed to transform an iconic North East Lincolnshire landmark into a community-owned and managed venue. The Pier at Cleethorpes has been acquired in a deal that will see it safeguarded for future community ownership – but community support in many different ways is vital in making the project a success.
In the short term, the doors will be opened as a café with ideas for the longer term including wedding receptions, conferences, tearooms, craft market and entertainment that focus on the Pier as a dance and concert hall. The most important element is to build a strong commercial foundation for the premises that will enable it to operate independently under community ownership in the future.
Once the doors are open on Saturday 27^th July 2013 and the building is generating income to cover the cost of the initial investment, public consultations will commence with all residents in North East Lincolnshire to understand exactly what people would like to see happen with the building. More cancellations by First Transpennine on the Cleethorpes to Manchester Airport line - 16 September 2013

So many trains are being cancelled because of  "a member of train crew being unavailable."

An occasional cancellation is understandable, but there have been many cancellations on this line since it re-opened in July.  The disruptions I have noted here may just be the tip of the iceberg, as it were.
