Surely demolition isn't the right solution for these blocks of flats.

Shoreline is the housing association that bought these four blocks of flats from the local council.

"
The Chinese property group YU has been told it cannot buy the high-rise flats – due to be demolished – on Grimsby's East Marsh.
The Chinese investors offered to pay £2.5 million for the blocks and planned to modernise them and rent them out privately.
But today the board of Shoreline said it had decided to proceed no further with the YU bid and is all set for demolition in 2017.
......................
The housing charity said it was concerned about the potential adverse impact on "the organisation's rental income in the immediate area".
Bosses added they could not see a way that this could be safely mitigated with any assurance."

A shell of a building: Pictures inside Lindsey Lower School as it is transformed into care home | Grimsby Telegraph

A shell of a building: Pictures inside Lindsey Lower School as it is transformed into care home | Grimsby Telegraph

Cleethorpes Girls' Grammar School, later the Lindsey Lower School, has been unused for several years.  Now the building is being converted into a care home, with much of the old building retained.  these photos bring back memories.

The corridors around the courtyards with the windows removed.  When I went to the school, the windows had only just been installed.  The room with a bay window and a fire place - wasn't that Miss Vallins' study?  The gym without bars - and dancing in the gym (was the music really 78s played on a wind-up gramophone?).  Sitting on the floor in the hall.  So many memories..............
