Cleethorpes Pier

Cleethorpes Pier

New plans revealed for The Pier

New plans have been revealed to transform an iconic North East Lincolnshire landmark into a community-owned and managed venue. The Pier at Cleethorpes has been acquired in a deal that will see it safeguarded for future community ownership – but community support in many different ways is vital in making the project a success.
In the short term, the doors will be opened as a café with ideas for the longer term including wedding receptions, conferences, tearooms, craft market and entertainment that focus on the Pier as a dance and concert hall. The most important element is to build a strong commercial foundation for the premises that will enable it to operate independently under community ownership in the future.
Once the doors are open on Saturday 27th July 2013 and the building is generating income to cover the cost of the initial investment, public consultations will commence with all residents in North East Lincolnshire to understand exactly what people would like to see happen with the building.
